Abstract Expressionist Painting
Jersey City, New Jersey

Painting is the main form of my personal artistic expression. I am looking to pursue a career in the visual arts as an exhibiting artist so that I can share my vision and passion with others.

These paintings have evolved out of layers and layers of experimentation and exploration in my search for the completed painting that feels right and "finished" to me. Sometimes they take minutes, sometimes they take months.  People often ask me why I do this or what do they mean? All I know is that I am compelled to paint because I know it is what I am supposed to do and for me these oils on canvas represent an ongoing conversation with myself, life, spirit, and the viewer that will last my lifetime.

Each painting is a search for some aspect of self. Some are influenced by dreams, a color, a landscape, a thought, words, a mood, or an experience(real or imagined). Most paintings do end up abstract and norepresentational, some hint of nature, the human figure, or have a feel of a landscape (physical or spiritual). I try to obtain a kind of space or depth in each painting while also capturing and energy or movement. I am very fond of Asian calligraphy in this aspect, simple yet powerful, and graffiti as well.

I invite the viewer to decipher each painting at his/her will according to its influence on his/her thoughts, emotions or experience. Mostly  I tell people to shut down that rational/logical part of the mind and have an experience. "As a man is so he sees."
